The Oregon Area Food Pantry’s primary mission, with the generous support of the community, is to serve Oregon School District residents who believe they need assistance in supplementing their supply of nutritious food and basic necessities. Our goal is to be a consistent, dependable resource for our clients, cooperating when possible with other community agencies. The Pantry Coordinators and other volunteers will act as stewards in a respectful and non-judgmental manner.
We cannot do this work without our amazing volunteers. Our food pantry has specialized teams of volunteers. Each team has its own focus and time commitment, and one may just be perfect for you!
Volunteers help guests select food items, restock tables, help with carry-outs, assist with registration etc. We assign tasks based on the abilities of our volunteers. All volunteers on distribution days must be 18 years of age and must sign a non-discrimination /non-disclosure agreement. Children younger than 18 are welcome to participate at the pantry and pantry events (such as food drives or sorting food) on non-distribution days.
